A look at the systems, websites, and stories I’ve created, much of it through Empowerment Avenue. These case studies follow my process from identifying a problem and sketching ideas to building something people use. Below, you’ll find more of my work in film, documents, and graphic design.

Graphic Design-ish
21 pieces · by yearby yearI have an interesting relationship with graphic design. When you work for small orgs, you end up doing a little bit of everything, and somewhere along the way I developed a real bond with Canva. I pull ideas from templates, Pinterest, and Behance. Sometimes a design comes together fast. Sometimes I’m still moving the same text box around an hour later.
I put most of what you see here together myself. New tools will make it easier to turn around a flyer, a poster, or a one-pager. Year by year, you may see me getting better. Or worse. Either way, I’m after the same thing. Can someone look at this and quickly get what the campaign is about, why it matters, and what to do next?
Making these pieces myself has given me a better eye for what makes somebody stop scrolling and what makes the message stick. A couple years from now, somebody else might be making the flyer, and I might be the one helping them figure out what it needs to say and how it should feel.
Below are some of the ups and downs, the patterns I keep coming back to, and the graphic design-ish.
